NOVEMBER MEETING OF THE
CORVETTE CLUB OF ORLANDO

The November meeting of the Corvette Club of Orlando was called to order by president Mike Nostro at 7:10 pm, with 42 members and visitors present. Visitors Steve Compton and Joe & Jewel Symmes were introduced to the club.
Susan King gave the treasurer's report, and you may contact her for further details.
Sandi Brown gave an update on Marjean Lawson, who is recovering from surgery. Colleen Hutton gave an update on Tom Grant, who is recovering from knee surgery. Don Ianitelli updated Jim Smaldone's status as well. All are recuperating and doing well.
Mike reminded members that club dues of $36 are due in January, 2010. He also recapped recent events, including the Halloween Progressive Dinner, and thanked those who opened their homes to the members for this event. Don recapped the Punta Gorda trip, and he and Ron Wiles presented Mike with an "official gavel" from the seafood restaurant the club visited while there. A presentation of a framed article in Vette Magazine was made to Nick Francoforte, whose car was featured in the magazine recently.
Mike then gave a quick rundown of upcoming events, including the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona, the Central Fl. Auto Show, the Saturday Breakfast Club outings, the club Christmas party, and a club outing at the Villages, with a car show, entertainment and dinner.
Don gave a sneak peak of upcoming 2010 events, including a hay ride and bar-b-que, a trip to the Aquarium in Sarasota, and another Kentucky Derby party in May. Other events included a Blueberry Winery Tour, the Rat Pack Show in Sanford, the NCRS meet at Old Town, and another You Gotta Love Bob trip. Ballots were passed out for voting for the Stoddard Award, to decide which club event was the best of 2009.
The 50/50 collected $210, and $105 was won by Jon & Susan Adams. Door prizes included a leather bag, won by Howard Brown, 4 mugs donated by Jim Owens and won by Bob Cole, Mike, Denise Holborn, and BJ Montagne, a $25 Nascar gift card donated by Don and won by Ron Wiles, and a quilt donated by Denise Holburn's mom, won by Mike Nostro.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm.
